چکیده

Abstract We investigate how collective behaviors of vibrations such as cooperativity and interference can enhance energy transfer in a nontrivial way, focusing on an example donor–bridge–acceptor trimeric chromophore system coupled to two vibrational degrees freedom. Employing parameters selected provide overall uphill from donor acceptor, we use numerical calculations dynamics exciton–vibration basis, together with perturbation-based analytics calculation vibronic spectra, identify clear spectral features single- multi-phonon vibrationally-assisted (VAET) dynamics, where the latter include up six-phonon contributions. signatures cooperation that enhancement relative obtained VAET single mode. observe phononic analogue two-photon absorption, well novel heteroexcitation mechanism which phonon gives rise simultaneous excitation both The impacts one- two-phonon processes are seen be quite different weak strong site–vibration coupling regimes. Chirally self-assembled porphyrin nanowires assisted by L-glutamide-derived lipid for excitation energy transfer.

An L-glutamide-functionalized tetraphenylporphyrin () has been newly synthesized and its self-assembling behavior in organic solvents is reported. forms nanofibrous assemblies in a dilute solution to show specific induced circular dichroism at the absorption band around the porphyrin moiety. It enables us to observe the meso-stable and stepwise H- and J-like hierarchical aggregations. Energy tr...

Excitation of molecular vibrations by positron impact.

Absolute cross sections for the vibrational excitation of CO, CO2, and H2 by positron impact are presented for incident positron energies from 0.5 eV to several electron volts. The measurements use a novel technique that exploits the adiabatic motion of a positron beam in a strong magnetic field. This work is the first systematic experimental study of vibrational excitation by positron impact, ...

Roles of the Excitation in Harvesting Energy from Vibrations

The study investigated the role of excitation in energy harvesting applications. While the energy ultimately comes from the excitation, it was shown that the excitation may not always behave as a source. When the device characteristics do not perfectly match the excitation, the excitation alternately behaves as a source and a sink. The extent to which the excitation behaves as a sink determines...

Suppressing Flow-induced Vibrations by Parametric Excitation

The possibility of suppressing self-excited vibrations of mechanical systems using parametric excitation is discussed. We consider a two-mass system of which the main mass is excited by a ow-induced, self excited force. A single mass which acts as a dynamic absorber is attached to the main mass and, by varying the stiiness between the main mass and the absorber mass, represents a parametric exc...
